Correlation issue in URL Recording Mode for Loadrunner

Thu, 07/14/2016 - 19:05

I've started learning loadrunner sometimes back I've a question

if we record mercury tour login process in URL Recording Mode it asks for correlation but on replay it gets passed

but if we record the same login process under HTML Recording Mode it does not pass in replay until you correlate the userSession

can you tell me the very reason why script is passing under URL Mode

I know the difference between URL & HTML Mode recordings

I'd really appreciate your prompt response

Thanks.

Why HP-LoadRunner or any Performance Testing Tool not clears sessions while execution

Wed, 07/13/2016 - 07:13

While doing Performance Testing Execution using Load-Runner or any other Performance Testing tool we select "clear cache on each iteration" It does not clear sessions on each iterations.

my Scenario is separate 1- Login 2- Action 3- End

Same thing if we do on UI, For Example: logged on - perform 1 or 2 transaction and clear cache, It will land-up on Login page again.

Why tool don't clears session what is the funda behind that.

LoadRunner Automatic Transactions

Tue, 07/12/2016 - 10:15

i notice that in LoadRunner 12.02 under Runtime Settings -> Miscellaneous -> Automatic Transactions could be checked the option: define each action as a transaction.

If I can handle action as a transaction so what's the really difference between theme? In which case could be better to use one instead of the other?

Ty in advance.

Unable to record Siebel v9 application using Vugen Sokect level port mapping

Fri, 07/08/2016 - 06:24

While trying to record Siebel application which runs in siebel v9 using Vugen Siebel Web protocol with recording setting set as to capture Socket level data, there's no event is getting recorded. Requesting guidance on this case.

Reference data which might be helpfull as reference- I've taken care of all necessary IE settings & Siebel high-interactive frameworks are also auto-downloaded. The flow works perfectly manually, but crashes in between while I tried to record using Vugen WinInet method.

Change failed request to passed in VuGen

Wed, 07/06/2016 - 01:38

I have 1 request which need authentication before it. Authentication executes one time at start and each time when request return code 403. Code of second auth looks like next:

int rc; lr_start_transaction("trans"); lr_continue_on_error(1); web_custom_request(...); // [1] lr_continue_on_error(0); rc = web_get_int_property(HTTP_INFO_RETURN_CODE); if (rc == 403){ authentication(); // custom action which authenticate user web_custom_request(...); // same as [1] } else if (rc != 200){ lr_stop_transaction("trans", LR_FAIL); } lr_stop_transaction("trans", LR_FAIL);

But when I start this test, I see error in first run of request [1], which I don't want to see, how to make it PASS if second request of [1] is successfull?

In loadrunner, parsing was not happened properly for the scripts replaying in HTML mode

Sun, 07/03/2016 - 01:20

In loadrunner, I recorded script in HTML mode by selected web_link, web_submit_form and do not record non-HTML resources. Like help document says, it won`t record non-HTML resources, but during replay it will parse the non-HTML resources from the parent request and send concurrent requests for those.

But when I replayed my scripts it's parsing only js,images and CSS files, its unable to parse other formats of non HTML resources like fonts.

Please let me know how to parse all non-HTML resources when I chooses above mentioned HTML mode options?

How can I fetch a value from response of web_custom_request in LoadRunner

Tue, 06/28/2016 - 06:45

I have a LR script and I am using to make a call on a REST API to download a file. The file gets downloaded successfully but I also need the value of the file size downloaded for verification purpose. Here is what i see in loadrunner console.

Action.c(50): web_custom_request("GetImage") was successful, 2373709 body bytes, 528 header bytes, 99 chunking overhead bytes.

How can I get the value 2373709?? I tried using the below code but the size it returns is a little bit different from the above mentioned and is not solving the purpose.

HttpDownLoadSize=web_get_int_property(HTTP_INFO_DOWNLOAD_SIZE); lr_output_message("File Size %i", HttpDownLoadSize);

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for you help.

Virtual Table Server in LoadRunner

Fri, 06/24/2016 - 05:41

I am working on performance testing of an asynchronous application and is required to store the execution data. I came to know about the availability of Virtual Table Server component in LoadRunner. Could you please provide the below clarifications.

  1. What is the underlying storage structure of the VTS table (ie.. like proprietary files / DB etc)
  2. If the VTS uses DB can we modify the DB it can use in background.
  3. What is the performance of the DB if we keep on inserting the data into table. We have a plan of using the VTS where the script creates 6600 records per day. Please note that the script runs Monday through Saturday for monitoring performance of application.
  4. Is it possible to perform archive and purge? if so how to schedule such activity on VTS.
  5. What are the performance and capacity issue that need to be considered while implementing script using VTS.

Getting Error Loading javai.dll in VuGen of HP Load Runner

Fri, 06/24/2016 - 02:27

When I'm trying to compile a simple script in HP load runner's VuGen. It is failing to start the JVM with following error: Java VM Internal Error: Getting Error Loading javai.dll

I'm using

  • HP LoadRunner version 12.5
  • Java version: 1.8.0
  • JAVA_HOME and PATH variables are properly set - jvm found

I'm able to compile and run the normal java programs on the same machine.

What is this javai.dll? and Why is the JVM trying to load it when it is being triggered from HP Load Runner? There are not more options to configure in Load Runner to manage this.

How to handle the redirection the url in loadrunner fails on 302 redirect

Fri, 06/24/2016 - 00:57

Basically the script sends one request for images which works fine. The second request submits form data to the server, however I now get 302 redirect. From here the rest of the script fails. When I re-recorded the script, recording works fine. I compared the message sent when recorded, to the message sent by LR on play back and they look the same. Same headers, same message. Thanks in advance..Its very urgent.i have tried "IGNORE REDIRECTIONS=YES" i got a error Invalid value for the "IgnoreRedirections" argument What have I missed?? What should I try???

I have a link like this :

http://URL:Port/bin/page1/spage1/content/sspage3/new/reallynew/2016/06/22/new-090132

The Portion after "/reallynew/" and /2016/, keeps changing at every run.

Is there a way via Regular Expression that , my scripts should work, no matter whatever it is after "reallynew" and "2016".

Thanks appreciate your help.
